In an effort to guarantee access to food for the most vulnerable populations, Caritas Callao announces with great joy the creation of the Callao Diocesan Food Bank, an initiative that will allow coordination with various companies and farmers, both national and international, to recover and distribute food throughout the diocese.
A commitment to food security
The Callao Diocesan Food Bank was created in response to the growing need of many families who face difficulties in accessing adequate food. Through this initiative, Caritas Callao will be able to recover products in good condition from markets, supermarkets, farmers and companies in the food sector, avoiding food waste and guaranteeing its distribution to those who need it most.
Strategic alliances to expand the impact
The success of this food bank will depend on collaboration with different sectors. Private companies, agricultural producers and international organizations will be able to join this solidarity network, ensuring a constant supply of food and basic products. In addition, we will work in partnership with parishes, soup kitchens and community organizations to distribute food efficiently and equitably.
Thousands of families benefited in Callao
It is estimated that, thanks to this new food bank, thousands of people in the diocese will be able to access nutritious and quality food, which will contribute to improving their well-being and reducing food insecurity in the region. Cáritas Callao reaffirms its mission to serve those most in need, promoting concrete actions to build a more supportive and fraternal community.
With the creation of the Diocesan Food Bank of Callao, we take a firm step towards greater social justice and the Christian commitment to share with those who need it most.
We invite companies, producers and volunteers to join this great initiative! For more information and how to collaborate, you can contact Cáritas Callao.
