In an effort to combat food waste and support the most needy families, Cáritas Callao has reached an important agreement with the Wholesale Fruit Market. This agreement will allow the recovery of food, particularly fruits, to be distributed among the beneficiary population of Callao.
In this first joint action, 2.5 tons of fruits have been recovered, which will be delivered to various parishes, soup kitchens, and community organizations working with Cáritas Callao. This initiative aims not only to reduce food waste but also to improve the nutrition of the most vulnerable people in the region.
The agreement with the Wholesale Fruit Market is a significant step in the fight against hunger and food insecurity in Callao. Through such collaborations, Cáritas Callao reaffirms its commitment to continue working for those most in need, promoting a culture of solidarity and sustainability.
The recovery of these 2.5 tons of fruits marks the beginning of a series of actions that are expected to continue and expand, achieving a positive long-term impact on the community.
We thank the Wholesale Fruit Market for their collaboration and all the volunteers and collaborators of Cáritas Callao who make this noble work possible. We invite other companies and markets to join this initiative to continue building a fairer and more supportive Callao.
